This is the play behind the play: a tale of blackmail, false identity, and money that offers a subversively funny new take on a theatrical classic.

WHAT WOULD it be like to live inside the head of Northern Irish comedian Paul Currie? It would be quite the trip considering his surrealist, wild, imagination has produced some of the most startling and original comedy of recent years.

THE GALWAY Fringe Festival has revealed its programme for this year’s event which runs from July 15 to 30. The Fringe is celebrating its sixth birthday and is set to be the largest the city has seen yet, with more than 100 events, including theatre, visual art, poetry, music, comedy, street spectacles, spoken word, and children’s events, across 18 venues.

DANNY O'BRIEN is “genuinely, uproariously funny, with a huge stage presence and wicked timing” according to The Sunday Independent, while The Examiner called him "a serious young talent in the making".

YOU KNOW Edwin Sammon from RTE’s Republic of Telly, and as Father Gabriel on the IFTA Award winning Bridget & Eamon. He is also an accomplished stand-up comedian, who is playing the Róisín Dubh Comedy Clubh.

AFTER THREE weeks of the Irish Comedian of the Year competition, it is time to get back to regular comedy nights at the Róisín Dubh Comedy Clubh, and getting the ball rolling is Donal Vaughan.
